June 28th, 2012 | by advocate360 |

The Greenville Municipal Concert Band, under the direction of JR Price, will kick off the first concert of its eight concert summer season with a Stars and Stripes Spectacular.  This concert will be given on Wednesday, July 4th.  The concert will begin at 7pm and will be held at the Marling Band Shell in the beautiful Greenville City Park. As always, the concert is free and open to the public.

Our Independence Day Celebration will include many patriotic songs and marches designed to pay tribute to our great country and the men and women who gave so much to protect it and secure our freedoms.  The evening will feature the vocal talents of Mr. Bill McIntosh.  Mr. McIntosh has sung with the Greenville Municipal Concert Band and various other area big bands in the past and is always a crowd favorite.

Another great feature of the concert will be the barbershop quartet, Play It By Ear.  This very enjoyable group hails from the Union City area and is also a crowd favorite.
