INTRO TO FLY TYING

June 4th, 2012 | by advocate360 |

Join Darke County Parks (DCP) volunteer and practiced fly tier, John Burkett, as he teaches us some of the best beginner flies to tie. Anyone who has ever wanted to learn about fly tying, should join DCP on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Nature Center at Shawnee Prairie Preserve, located at 4267 St. Rt. 502 West. DCP will provide the materials, participants will provide the eyes, fingers and patience! No matter what flies end up looking like, this activity is very calming and fun to learn. There is a fee of $5 and space is limited. To register for this program, call the Nature Center at 937-548-0165. For more information on this and other programs offered by the Darke County Park District, please visit their website at www.darkecountyparks.org.
