Stif Racing and Miami Valley Centre Mall, Piqua, Exit #82, will again showcase racecars, drivers and racing memorabilia at the ninth annual “Race Cars and Future Stars Expo”. The expo begins Thursday, March 15 and continues during mall hours through Sunday, March 18. The cars will be located throughout the mall and is free to the viewing public.
Karts, midgets, quarter midgets, stock cars, dragsters, modifieds, late models, legends, sprints, mini-sprints and many others will be available for your viewing pleasure. Drivers will be available Saturday from 7 PM to 9 PM to meet and greet the public. Last year there were 70 participating race teams, this year promises to be bigger and better. Race memorabilia will also be displayed and for sale.
If you have ever had the urge to sit in a racecar and zoom around the track now is your chance. You’ll be able to settle into a partial mock-up of a sprint car and compete against others in the simulators that will be at the show. For a nominal fee you can race against your buddy. It’s great fun and if you wreck you don’t get hurt. Come and challenge your friends. It’s not the Daytona 500 but it sure is fun and costs a whole lot less.
The Race Expo will again have a neat feature for all simulator competitors. Racers posting the fastest times, Thursday, Friday and Saturday will compete Sunday and cash prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers. On Sunday afternoon all participating race teams at the expo will compete for the top three spots and cash prizes.
Anyone wishing to become a DARF (Dayton Auto Race Fan) club member may do so while attending the expo. Members will be on hand to sell single and family memberships. Membership entitles the member to attend races at many racetracks on specified dates at reduced prices (some even have free admission), receive the DARF newletters and may attend the monthly DARF meetings. Be sure to stop by their booth and check out this deal.
Also attending Saturday and Sunday will be “Dayton Speedway Lives”. See a large display from the old track, browse thru old photos and meet several retired drivers from the old Dayton Speedway.
For more information contact Steve Stiefel at (937) 778-8280 or email@example.com for information. Proceeds for the expo will be donated to local charities. Most race teams have a number of sponsors and this show is an opportunity to show their appreciation for their valuable support and help raise funds for a worthwhile charity.
REMEMBER—March 15 through March 18, Miami Valley Centre Mall, Piqua, Exit #82. No admission charge so bring the children, enjoy, learn more about the sport, the drivers and area racetracks.
