HELP US WRAP THIS UP

Your Versailles Area Historical Society is planning a new display entitled “The Stitch that Binds” Quilting and Textiles in Our Community” as a new display for autumn at the museum. We want to feature antique quilts, coverlets and textiles produced in homes in our area. As well as the tools used to create them.

This beautiful tradition often told a story and we are anxious to feature these items and their stories at the museum.

If you are willing to place your quilt, afghan, cross stitch, or other textile prize on display, we want to hear from you! We will be running this display from September till early November and need to begin gathering in the next two weeks. We are also looking for a loom, spinning wheel, and historic sewing machines.

Please contact Alice at 526-3953, Deb at 423-1106, or Jim at 526-4271, if you have a textile to loan.

We are looking forward to uncovering this beautiful history in our area!
