STUFF A BUS COLLECTION DAY, AUG. 3

July 17th, 2012 | by advocate360 |

The Darke County United Way is having its 7th annual Stuff A Bus Day of Caring Project to collect school supplies and distribute them to all Darke County local school districts for students in need.  Please help us by donating the following school supplies: Paper (wide and college-ruled), composition books, #2 pencils, blue and black pens, erasers, rulers, glue sticks (twist up), safety scissors, markers, washable markers, highlighters, post it notes, crayons in 16 or 24 packs, single subject notebooks, colored pencils, pocket folders, calculators, pencil sharpeners, pencil pouches/boxes, and/or dry erase markers.

Collection day is Friday, August 3rd from 9am-4pm at the JCPenney parking lot in Greenville and 9am-2pm at the Versailles Savings & Loan parking lot in Versailles.  We are fortunate to have volunteers from Council on Rural Services HandsOn West Central Ohio and Versailles Modern Mothers groups helping us at the drop-off sites.  Would you like to donate supplies before August 3rd?  Great, there are a number of local businesses collecting items between now and August 3rd.

Please drop items off at the following locations: Darke County Chamber of Commerce, Darke County YMCA-Greenville and Versailles, The Farmers State Bank – Greenville and New Madison Branches, Greenville Federal, Greenville National Bank – Broadway branch in Greenville and branches in Ansonia, Arcanum, Bradford, and Gettysburg, Second National Bank – Broadway branch in Greenville and Arcanum & Versailles branches, McDonalds, and the Darke County United Way Office.

Last year, with the community’s amazing generosity, close to 10,000 items were collected for children in need in the county.

Thank you Darke County for remembering those who have fallen on harder times, for helping your neighbor, and for trying to better the condition of all of us in Darke County.  Stuff a Bus benefits children in the following school districts: Ansonia, Arcanum, Bradford, Franklin Monroe, Greenville, Mississinawa Valley, Tri Village, Versailles, and Board of Developmental Disabilities.  The Blue Angels 4-H club is the generous volunteer group helping the United Way sort school supplies for the Darke County school districts.  Start collecting school supplies today!  For more about Stuff a Bus visit www.darkecountyunitedway.org.
